On Fri., August 10, KYCC presented its 17th Annual Benefit Concert at The Music Center’s Walt Disney Concert Hall in downtown Los Angeles, raising over $420,000 for the agency’s programs and services.  The concert was held in association with the Korean American Women’s Association and the Korean American Music Foundation. This year’s Title Sponsor was Wells Fargo and the VIP Sponsor was Nissan North America.

“KYCC’s Annual Benefit Concert is a wonderful musical performance, but it is also an opportunity for our agency to acknowledge the generosity of our sponsors and supporters,” says KYCC Executive Director Johng Ho Song. “In particular, this year’s Title Sponsor, Wells Fargo, has been a longstanding partner of KYCC, and they are committed to supporting our Community Economic Development services, affordable housing and youth programs. We are incredibly grateful for their recent focus on family security, in particular, permanent solutions for families that were previously homeless.”

R&B singer-songwriter Brian McKnight returned to headline the fundraiser with a six-song set that included the classics “Still” and “Back at One.” Actor John Cho received an Honorary Award sponsored by London Trust Media for his longstanding commitment to KYCC. CBS2/KCAL9 Anchor and Reporter Suzie Suh was the evening’s entertaining Master of Ceremonies, introducing the performances, which covered a wide range of genres, including pop, Korean folk music and classical music.
