Enroll with FamilySource Center (FSC) at KYCC to access to free services
We help you and your family determine whether or not you are eligible for various public assistance programs, such as healthcare, food assistance, housing subsidies, and income support. If you are, we help you enroll to receive eligible benefits.
You can receive up to two of each item every month. You must schedule an appointment with us to pick up the items you need.
We help you prepare your taxes for free through our Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) tax clinic at KYCC.
If you need help paying off your SoCalGas bill, we can help you apply to the Gas Assistance Fund (GAF). If you are under the age of 55, you are eligible for up to $100. If you are over the age of 55, you are eligible for up to $200.
We can help enroll you in low income utility discount programs. Programs include EZ-Save for the LADWP bill and CARES for the SoCalGas bill.
As a FSC client, you will be notified when we host our monthly food and grocery distributions outside of our Menlo building. Pantry items are available any time for FSC clients. If you would like access to our pantry and distribution, consider enrolling.

We welcome aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners, including street vendors, who are seeking expert guidance for their business. Learn more about our program by visiting our Small Business Development Page.
We may be able to help clients who have a chronic illness and are currently struggling with homelessness with rental assistance. Clients also need to have children under the age of 18, complete an assessment, and be enrolled in our FSC program to be considered for rental assistance.
FSC collaborates with LAUSD Counselors who engage parents and students with resources to increase access to academic achievement. LAUSD Counselors conduct educational assessments and connect families to programs and services. We aim to support emotional and social well-being, increase attendance, improve academic achievement, and support the goal of graduation for all students.
Students enrolled with FSC have access to free arts and science education workshops by College Corner, our college prep program.
Students enrolled with FSC have access to free tutoring by College Corner, our college prep program.
Students enrolled with FSC have access to free college preparation services by College Corner. Our staff assists students with filling out their college application and studying for college entrance exams. Students also have the chance to learn about jobs and careers.
Enroll your children in our triple language immersion preschool, K-12 afterschool programs, and college prep.

You are (1) a low-income family with children under 18-years-old and (2) you live in the City of Los Angeles.

What services are available at a FamilySource Center?
We offer a variety of services that you can find on our page. Services typically include free after school tutoring and enrichment for middle school and high school aged youth, public benefit enrollment, financial education and coaching, free tax preparation services, free food and household items for families with children.

Who is eligible to access free services?
Eligibility requirements vary depending on the specific service. Generally, you may be eligible if you are a LA City resident and are part of a low-income family with children. Please call us at (213) 365-7400 (Ext. 5600) or submit a callback form to see if you are eligible to receive services.

Can I get free services if I’m a LA County resident?
No, unfortunately KYCC FSC services are limited to only LA City Residents. However, there are other FamilySource Centers across Los Angeles that serve their nearby communities. Yes, we offer job readiness training, resume assistance, job placement services, and workshops to improve job skills for clients who are enrolled with us.
