Affordable Housing for Low-Income Individuals and Families
KYCC partners with eight buildings in Koreatown to provide clients options for affordable, low-income housing. Anyone who is low-income is eligible to apply, but keep in mind that there is often a waiting list to secure a unit.
Who qualifies for affordable housing?
Anyone who is low-income is eligible to apply to any three of our eight affordable housing units. Please navigate to “Access Individual Income Limit Areas” on this website to determine if you are 50% or below the annual median household income in your area.
You are also eligible for affordable housing if you are part of Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s (LAHSA) Time-Limited Subsidy Program.
Please keep in mind that PHD apartments are only available to those who have a Section 8 voucher.
HOW TO APPLY FOR AFFORDABLE HOUSING
Call the property manager for the building you or your family is interested in and schedule an appointment for a screening
You must call the property manager, not KYCC, to get started. Below is the contact information for each building’s property manager.

Clients who become KYCC tenants receive case management services from our own staff to help them maintain housing. We help each tenant in our housing units who had a history of homelessness acclimate to society again and advocate on their behalf with property management.
Who qualifies for permanent supportive housing?
We provide permanent supportive housing to formerly or currently unhoused individuals. We focus on helping unhoused individuals struggling with mental illness or substance use disorder (SUD), or seniors who have disabilities. You must be referred by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Department of Health Services (DHS) to qualify for our permanent supportive housing units.

-
Can I apply for KYCC’s housing units directly?
That depends. If you are interested in one of our low-income affordable housing sites, you can apply directly by calling the property managers. However, you can only apply to our permanent supportive housing sites if you are referred by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Department of Health Services (DHS).
-
How long is the waitlist for housing units?
The waitlist period is undetermined. It can take anywhere between weeks to years given that our housing units are permanent.
-
What kind of support services does KYCC provide for tenants in their housing sites?
We provide intensive case management for our tenants. We help individuals learn how to complete essential tasks such as doing the laundry and filling out a money order. We are present during their meetings with property management to advocate for them. We also have case managers for each tenant who help connect them with mental health and substance use resources. KYCC has its own mental health and substance use recovery service units. Our ultimate goal is to prevent eviction and re-homelessness.
-
Can KYCC help me find a job?
Yes. All clients under our programs will have mandatory case management, which includes help finding a job.
-
How long does KYCC provide subsidy for those accepted into the program?
If you are part of the Time-Limited Subsidy Program, KYCC provides a subsidy for 24 months. If you are part of one of our Permanent Housing sites, we provide the subsidy as long as you remain one of our tenants.
-
When do I start paying my own rent?
- Below is the payment plan for tenants under the Time-Limited Subsidy (TLS) Program:
- First 6 months: KYCC pays 100% of your rent
