Prevent Youth Access to Substance,
Make a Lasting Impact

We partner with parents, schools, community-based organizations, local politicians, faith-based organizations, law enforcement agencies, healthcare professionals, businesses, and more to prevent and control substance abuse among youth by addressing substance use availability and accessibility.

PREVENTION EDUCATION UNIT

We believe substance use is a symptom, so we tackle its root causes through education and policy advocacy.

We spearhead multiple initiatives that aim to educate and mobilize the community about substance use. Learn more about our programs below.

Our Work & Advocacy

Safety Keepers Program

The Safety Keepers Program is part of the MacArthur Park Community Initiative (MPCI) designed to involve local residents in promoting safety at MacArthur Park. Our goal is to create a positive impact through engaging activities and by spreading awareness about community resources.

Prevention Community Council (PCC)

PCC is made up of four parent groups that meet monthly via Zoom to learn about substance use and prevention and become active members in the community that advocate for change through Los Angeles’ governance process.

Request Educational Training For Your School or Organization

KYCC’s Prevention Education (PE) Unit is dedicated to raising awareness about substance use prevention through education.
