Menlo College Corner Celebrates a Successful Summer
KYCC’s Menlo College Corner held a successful summer program, filled with activities to get our students ready for college. The program took place from June 17 through August 2, 2024, with a curriculum centered around SAT prep, transitional skills, college applications, employment and professional development skills for high school aged students.
College Corner is dedicated to inspiring and empowering middle school and high school students by equipping them for the upcoming academic year and their future educational paths. Our summer program is crafted to foster connections, offer mentorship, and provide valuable academic resources and experiences for our students.
College Corner operates as a drop-in center, allowing students to attend on the days that best fit their schedules. This summer, six college visits were organized to UC Santa Barbara, Santa Monica College, USC, LACC, UC Irvine, and the SCI-Arc, with over 15 youth on each trip. Additionally, seven workshops were conducted for SAT preparation, as well as Summer Connection workshops, College Application workshops, and UCLA Bridge Workshops!
“College Corner has helped me through difficult times in my personal life and in my education. College Corner is a very welcoming place to students. They provide different activities and opportunities for students. It is a very chill environment and College Corner helps me focus on my studies as well as staying motivated with their encouragement,” said College Corner student, Lesly V.
Our team of staff dedicated significant effort to create unforgettable educational experiences for students and their families.
