KYCC Wilshire FamilySource Center Marks Year of Grocery Distributions
On Friday, December 20, 2024, KYCC’s FamilySource Center held its last grocery distribution event of the year. The event successfully provided over 127 families with essential groceries and resources, making a significant difference in their lives during the holiday season.
KYCC’s monthly Grocery Distribution at our Wilshire FamilySource Center aims to support and uplift families in need, by providing essential groceries and other necessities to our clients. The event seeks to alleviate financial burdens, foster community spirit, and help ensure that families can celebrate the holidays with joy and dignity.
In partnership with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, FamilySource Center was able to offer a variety of essential food items at no cost, including fresh produce, grains, proteins, dairy products, and non-perishable goods, all of which contribute to their health and well-being.
“For me it is a pleasure to donate my time to these noble causes and serve the community with much love. That is my contribution that I inherit for the next generations,” says Yolanda Canseco, a FamilySource Center volunteer.
This event was just one of 12 grocery distribution events held throughout 2024, all aimed at supporting our community. A special thank you to the 6 volunteers from New York Life and our 22 dedicated regular volunteers who made thise event a success. Together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of families across Los Angeles.
This initiative is made possible through funding from the City of Los Angeles, Community Investment for Families Department, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and St. Raphael Korean Catholic Center in Norwalk.
