Adult Volunteer Opportunities
If you’re looking for ways to connect with the community and engage in meaningful, rewarding work, we’re the place for you. We have 25+ year-round opportunities for adults to join us in our mission through everything from working with children, planting trees, beautifying our community, preparing taxes or being a guest speaker in our afterschool programs. Our 1,500 adult volunteers truly enhance the quality of our programs and dramatically increase our community impact, and often have opportunities to meet new people, develop their skills and contribute their talents to our community.
If there are no open opportunities that interest you but you still want to be involved with KYCC, please fill out our Volunteer Interest form, and our staff will do our best to match you with an opportunity that best suits your interests and schedule.
Please read through our Frequently Asked Questions on Youth Volunteers. If you have further questions, please fill out our Contact Us form, and we will get back to you shortly.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
Can I bring my kids to my volunteer opportunity?
This will vary with each opportunity, please contact the supervisor in charge of the event or program to confirm. These determinations are made to ensure the safety of our participants, volunteers and the children. If approved, all minors, regardless of age, must be registered as volunteers.
-
Why do I need to do a background check?
Anyone who will be working regularly with youth, or volunteering on an ongoing basis at one of our youth sites will have to complete a background check to ensure the safety of our participants. This is a standard practice for any youth serving program. KYCC programs always cover the cost of the background check.
-
Do you offer placements for court-mandated community service?
Yes, KYCC is a placement site for court-mandated community service. However, we only accept referrals from the court-referred volunteer center. If you would like to complete your hours at KYCC, please report to your nearest court office and request KYCC as a placement site. We cannot accept walk-ins or self-referrals. Court-mandated volunteers may only serve in our environmental services unit.
